Behind the Brand: With Love Events Featured in Voyage Michigan

"Hi Keriann, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?"

My journey into wedding planning really began in 2015, when I was a Canadian living in Waterloo, Ontario—planning my own wedding across the border in Michigan. I had no knowledge of local venues or vendors, no connections in the area, and no clue how to navigate the process long-distance. I quickly became a DIY bride, researching everything from contracts to centerpieces on my own. What could have been a stressful experience turned into something empowering—and that’s when I realized how much I loved the process.

After my wedding, I transitioned into a career as a corporate event planner. I managed everything from conventions to executive board meetings. While the logistics were valuable experience, the events became very routine, very structured. I missed the creativity, the emotion, the storytelling that came with weddings. That’s when I decided to take the leap and start my own company—With Love Events, LLC.

Launching my own wedding planning business gave me the freedom to combine structure with artistry. I knew firsthand what it felt like to be overwhelmed as a bride, especially when you’re far from the venue and have no idea who to trust. Now, I get to help other couples—especially those planning long-distance or with limited time—bring their dream weddings to life without the stress I went through.

With Love Events isn’t just about timelines and vendor coordination, it’s about creating moments that reflect each couple’s unique story. I bring a blend of logistical precision and creative vision, and I take pride in making the process feel calm, clear, and even joyful.

Being an entrepreneur has given me space to grow, push boundaries, and stay inspired. I’m not just planning weddings, I’m building meaningful, lasting experiences. And there’s nothing routine about that.

"We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?"

It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road. Like many in the events industry, 2020 was one of the most challenging years of my career and life. When COVID hit and events were shut down, everything changed overnight. Suddenly, weddings I had spent months and even years planning were either canceled, postponed, or drastically downsized. At one point, venues were only allowed to host 10 guests, and I had to quickly pivot to planning multiple last-minute backyard weddings, often with just a few weeks notice.

To make things even more intense, I was pregnant with my first child during all of this. I was dealing with the emotional weight of disappointed clients, the pressure of constant replanning, and the personal transition into motherhood. I ended up having to move 34 weddings into 2021. That meant double the workload in a single year, while also navigating newborn life.

There were difficult conversations around refunds, rescheduling, and managing expectations when emotions were understandably high. But I stayed committed to every couple, even when it meant reimagining their entire day with a fraction of the original guest list and a completely different venue.

That year taught me resilience, patience, and the importance of communication. It pushed me to create systems, streamline my process, and lean into flexibility like never before. Balancing motherhood and business ownership isn’t easy, but that experience shaped me into a stronger planner and a more empathetic human being. Now, I see every challenge as an opportunity to grow and to serve my clients with even more heart.

"As you know, we’re big fans of With Love Events, LLC. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?"

With Love Events, LLC is a wedding planning and design company rooted in creativity, intention, and personalized service. I see each wedding not just as an event, but as a living, breathing piece of art—a reflection of the couple’s unique story, personalities, and values.

I’ve always had a love for aesthetics and visual storytelling. I grew up dancing (Irish dance, lyrical and ballet), drawing, and surrounded by art. My mom is a graphic designer and watercolor artist, so creativity was a big part of my life from an early age. That artistic background really shapes the way I approach weddings today! From the flow of the day to the details of the décor, I treat every event like a curated experience—not a copy-and-paste formula.

What sets With Love Events apart is the level of care and customization I bring to each wedding. I don’t believe in trends for trend’s sake. I work closely with my clients to design celebrations that feel authentic to them—whether that’s a modern city rooftop wedding, a romantic garden elopement or a multi-day Indian wedding rich with cultural traditions.

I offer everything from full planning to day-of coordination, with a focus on creating cohesive, design-forward weddings that blend personal storytelling with meaningful details. My strength lies in translating a couple’s vision into an experience that’s not only visually stunning, but deeply reflective of who they are—from the mood and aesthetic to the flow and energy of the day.

To ensure every couple receives the highest level of care, I intentionally take on a limited number of weddings each year. This boutique-style approach allows me to work directly with every client. I’m fully present and personally invested from the very first consultation to the last dance, offering prompt responses, thoughtful guidance, and a hands-on planning experience.

Brand-wise, I’m most proud of the trust I’ve built with my clients. With Love Events is known for calm under pressure, clear communication, and seamless execution. But more than that, I’m proud that my clients feel seen, heard, and genuinely supported throughout the process. This isn’t just my job—it’s my passion and when clients become friends it’s truly a dream come true!

At the end of the day, I want readers to know that With Love Events is here to help couples celebrate their love in a way that’s beautifully personal, thoughtfully planned, and artfully executed-whether it’s an intimate backyard ceremony or a multi-day cultural celebration. No two weddings are the same, because no two love stories are either.

Any big plans?"

Looking ahead, I’m excited to expand With Love Events into more destination wedding planning, particularly for beachside and outdoor celebrations. There’s something incredibly special about designing weddings in naturally stunning locations where the setting itself becomes part of the story. I love the idea of helping couples create immersive wedding weekends that feel like both a celebration and a meaningful escape.

As I grow, it’s important to me to stay true to the boutique experience I’ve built my brand on. I continue to work one-on-one with each client, offering quick response times, personalized guidance, and full creative investment from start to finish. Even as I expand my reach into destination weddings, I’m committed to keeping that level of care and attention at the heart of what I do.

I’m also looking forward to planning more intimate and intentionally designed celebrations—whether that’s an oceanside ceremony, a multi-day cultural wedding, or a private estate gathering. I want to keep pushing the boundaries of what a wedding can look and feel like, while staying grounded in storytelling, aesthetic integrity, and exceptional service.

For me, the future is about curating experiences that feel effortless, elevated, and unforgettable!
